Default PvE Build

Im looking to get into playing my Monk who has been used to 55 monk for the past year and I want to get into playing him on the campaigns.

I currently have no elites on him and have found this build and am no where near getting WoH on him
http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Mo/any_WoH_Hybrid

I am wondering if their is any good builds to use without elites and if you guys could suggest some

Thanks

Well for early on, you could happily get away with using that bar but subbing woh for patients spirit.

You can drop Selfless spirit for Gole too if you dont have access to it.

Personally id drop Rebirth too for maybe another cheap heal untill you get Woh ect or for aegis!

Sidenote: woh is an early cap

[patient spirit][dwaynas kiss][dismiss condition][cure hex]
[aegis][shield of absorption][protective spirit][selfless spirit]/[glyph of lesser energy] with a 14/10/10 split would do you fine.

hope that helps a little.

yeah thanks I have always wanted to run a monk because they look so cool and could never figure out a good build without elites and since I have not played any campaigns capturing was kind of hard

Well, as stated before WoH is an easy cap.

Alternatives without elites:
- some kind of Boon Prot build
- Patient spirit instead of WoH (and bring other fast heal)
- Smiter's boon build

Just toy around, since you did not play much of the game yet (since WoH isn't an easy cap for you) you don't really need it.
And if you are really desperate: Unlock WoH in PvP, obtain Elite Monk Tome and unlock WoH on your PvE monk with tome....

Well you can't really run a decent hybrid build without an elite. You'd be better off with a boon protection build if you want to heal and protect at the same time. But if you want to run a hybrid bar you should cap glimmer of light because glimmer is available earlier than woh (only have to do consulate docks then you can go straight for it) and that elite is perfect for hybrid builds because it can basically serve as your only heal. And if you aren't close to glimmer than you're too low of a level to be spreading attributes too much anyway and your skill selection is too small.

What campaigns do you have? JILT's advice is good if you have Nightfall. Glimmer of light is a good starting point before you get WoH.

Until you get even that far stick to healing or protection. I started my Monk in Nightfall (i liked his look better and the Heroes helped some) and was all healing to start. WoH opened me up to hybrid bars and I never looked back.

In my experience, doing the healing monk in low-end pve can be nice the first times, but it soon becomes really boring, expecially if you run some gimmick like sab, discord, etc., so my advice is to try also a smiter build with RoJ.

My two preferred builds:
hybrid:
RoF,Dismiss,Cure Hex, SoA, WoH, Prot Spirit, GoLE, Aegis
smiter:
RoJ, Arcane Echo, Castigation Signet, Smite Hex, Smite Condition, SoA, PS, Aegis

with some variants here and there.
